CAD Jobs
CAD technician at work.
Computer-aided design (CAD) technicians use computer software to
design plans for buildings and machinery. This inolves creating 2D (surface model)
and 3D (solid model) designs for products. They initialy use surface
modelling to create a flat representation of the product, and then they
create a solid model. The solid models can then be used to create a ‘virtual tour’
of a building or piece of machinery.

CNC Jobs
CNC machinist at work.
A computer numerated control (CNC) machinist, uses computers and designs
created by CAD technicians to create machines or other products. This is done by
converting the designs into numbers and then entering them into a cutting machine
as co-ordinates. The cutting machine will then create a product by going from one
co-ordinate to another.

Coiled Tubing Jobs
Coiled tubing unit.
A coiled tubing operator uses coiled tubing to perform tasks with a well such as pumping
fluid to stimulate the flow of oil and gas. Coiled tubing is a flexible and continuous steel
or composite tube that is kept on a large reel for transportation.
