Drilling Ship
Drilling ships are used in much deeper waters than Jack-Up Rigs. Drilling takes place through the bottom of the vessel. As it is not attached to the sea bed it is free to move around as a source is exhausted. A Drilling ship is disadvantaged by its design as wind and sea can halt drilling. A drilling ship is more efficient in calmer waters as it is not at risk of high winds and rough seas. The rig is mounted in the middle of the ship so that it can move around more easily.
